Missing VAT Number

What it checks

The rule applies to B2B orders, meaning orders placed by a customer who is buying for a company in Shopify B2B. If the purchasing company has no name, checkout is blocked and the message appears next to the Company field of the shipping address.

Orders from regular (non-B2B) customers are not checked.

Settings

Setting	Description
Countries	All countries, or only orders shipped to Specific countries.
Allowed VAT Number Formats	The EU VAT formats you accept. All 27 EU countries are selected by default, and you must keep at least one. Search for a format, tick it to add it, or click × to remove it.
Message to display	What the customer sees. English is required.
Rule status	Active, Testing or Deactivated. See Rule status and testing.
