Codebeans Checkout Rules checks every order against rules you set up, while the customer is still at checkout. If the order breaks a rule, Shopify stops the checkout and shows the customer a clear message that tells them what to fix.
Checkout address form with an error under the address field: Please add your house or building number to Address line 1.

A customer sees your message and can't continue until the address is fixed.

Use it to:
  • Make sure customers enter a house number, an apartment number or a valid postcode.
  • Refuse P.O. Box addresses for carriers that can’t deliver to them.
  • Require customs or tax IDs for countries that need them.
  • Block orders that match your own conditions, such as a cart value, a product, a customer tag or a delivery method.
  • Give each checkout profile its own favicon (Shopify Plus).

How it works

1

Create a rule

Pick one of the ready-made preset rules, or build your own with the custom rule builder.
2

Test it safely

Set the rule to Testing. It only runs for checkouts that use the test email, so real customers are not affected.
3

Go live

Switch the rule to Active. From then on, every checkout that breaks the rule is stopped and shows your message.

Quickstart

Set up and test your first rule in about five minutes.

Preset rules

Ten ready-made rules for common address and compliance checks.

Custom rules

Combine conditions on the cart, the customer and the address to block exactly what you need.

Checkout favicon

Upload a different favicon for each checkout profile.
Checkout validation works on every Shopify plan. Only the Checkout favicon feature needs Shopify Plus.
